There was
once a boy named Nico Roberts. Nico was 7 years old and lived in a nice, quiet
neighborhood with his family. He loved to draw, he loved to read, but most of
all, he loved to play with his stuffed animals. He would play with them every
day, for hours at times. And they would always accompany him wherever he would
go. They would never leave his side. Not even at night. “I will stay with you
for the rest of my life!” he told them.
But little did he know that the kid next door was an evil stuffed animal collector. The kid would steal stuffed animals and rip them apart. He was truly evil. One day, when Nico was drawing (with his animals next to him, of course), the neighbor spotted them through his window. “I must have those animals!” he said to himself.
The next morning (a very warm morning, too), when Nico was playing with his stuffed animals in his yard, the neighbor tried to get them. He decided to set up a distraction. He would set out a piece of cake and put it on a plate on Nico’s yard. When Nico went to the cake, he would steal the stuffed animals. It’s a flawless plan, he thought. So, he did it. As Nico was playing, he saw a piece of cake on a plate nearby. He started to go take it but then he remembered his promise: that he would never leave his animals alone. So, he took them with him and ate all the cake. “Dang it!” the neighbor yelled, as he retreated into his home. “That was a good cake, too!”
The neighbor then came up with another plan. He decided to put on a disguise and act like a stuffed animal inspector. He rang Nico’s doorbell. When Nico came to the door, the neighbor said, “Sir. I am a famous stuffed animal inspector. I am here to inspect your stuffed animals. I need to see if they are in good condition.” Nico, unknowingly, went and gave him his animals. As soon as he did, the kid ran away and went to his house and locked the door. “NOOOOOOOO!” Nico screamed. “How could I be so foolish?”
Back in his house, the neighbor
was delighted. “Finally, I have the last stuffed animals for my collection. Now
I can begin their destruction!” But he was tired, so he decided to first take a
nap. And since it was so hot, he left the windows open, so he could get some
fresh air. And then he went to sleep. Nico saw the open window and snuck in,
walking quietly through the hall. He looked through the various doors, looking
for the animals he had lost earlier in the day. And then he saw them. Right
next to the sleeping neighbor. “Uh oh,” Nico said. But he decided to go for it.
He went into the room, as quietly as possible, and stopped in front of the
sleeping kid blocking his path. He took a deep breath and stepped over him. As
he was crossing, however, the kid began to stir. Nico grabbed the animals and
ran. He hopped out of the window just as the kid woke up, only to find the
animals gone. Nico was happy again.
Enjoy, The End.
